Dating text

Datation is based on pottery, similar to the one from Maharski prekop, and on radiocarbon dating: pile (4487 ± 96 BP). / Datation is based on pottery, similar to the one from Maharski prekop, and on radiocarbon dating: pile (4487 ± 96 BP).

Description

The settlement is situated southeast of the Maharski prekop pile-dwelling, on fallow Spodnje mostišče. In 1974, Tatjana Bregant set a smaller test pit on the parcel 1250 CM Studenec-Ig, while she was excavating on Maharski prekop. Inside the test pit, she found 26 fragments of pottery, house roughcast, and piles sunk vertically. The data on settlement remains are very scarce. Therefore, we can not determine with certainty the preservation level of the site. A well-preserved cultural layer with piles is expected. The relation towards neighbouring settlement points is not known; it might be a unified pile-dwelling settlement. / The settlement is situated southeast of the Maharski prekop pile-dwelling, on fallow Spodnje mostišče.
